Summer Reading is Over!

The Children’s Library had a good summer with 271 participants in the Birth to Fifth Grade program and 92 students in the Sixth through Twelfth Grade Program.  Next week we’ll have more definitive statistics on books read to report.  There were happy raffle winners each week for both the Adult and Children’s programs. It’s hard to believe that the six weeks of the reading program have passed so quickly.  Please remember that just because the reading programs have officially ended, it doesn’t mean you can stop reading!  Now that everyone is in the habit of reading every day, it’s good for the brain to keep doing it!

Adult Programs

Friday Night Crafting Club, 6-8 pm.  Bring your project to the library and take some time for yourself to work on knitting, crocheting, quilting, scrapbooking or whatever interests you.  Meet other crafters and join in the camaraderie.  No registration is required.

Librarians After Hours, Thursday, Sept. 12, 7-8 pm, Biscotti’s Restaurant. Your local librarians will be on tap for drinks, appetizers and a lively discussion of their monthly pick for a book discussion. September’s book selection is The Tour by Jean Grainger. Pick up your free copy at the Library starting August 9th. (Available to the first 10 participants.) Appetizers and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided.  Registration online is open with limited spaces. This program is funded by the Derx Foundation.

Children’s Programs

Drop-In Craft, Saturdays from 11 am to 4 pm.  Children of all ages are invited to stop in and enjoy a craft!

No story times will be held during the month of August.  Please check online to register for upcoming sessions in September.
