Mitten Tree

   Last week to donate!  The Mitten Tree is located in the Children’s Library and will be accepting donations of new or unused hats, mittens, gloves, and scarves until December 6th.  All donations will be given to New Fairfield’s Department of Social Services.  Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Toys for Tots

   The Library has two locations for Toys for Tots donations.  Boxes are located in both the Adult and Children’s libraries.  Thank you in advance for your generosity. 

Children’s Hospital

   The Children’s Library has a special donation box for the Connecticut Children’s Hospital if you’d like to contribute certain items as well.  There is a sign on the box with the preferred items to donate.  Thank you for your kindness toward these children.  Donations will be accepted until December 10th.

Adult Programs/November  

   Friday Night Crafters, 6-8 pm.  No registration required.  Take some time for yourself and pop in to work on whatever project you have going.

   Card Making, Monday, Dec. 9, 6-7 pm.  Linda Norris will assist you in creating your own unique cards.  All the embellishments will be provided!  Registration online opened 11/25.

   Christmas Concert, Sunday, 12/15, 1:30-3:00 pm.  Listen to the Candlewood Brass Quintet as they perform well-known tunes, some new to you, and new takes on old favorites.  Online registration opened 12/1.

   Children’s Programs/November

   Seasonal Craft, Monday, Dec. 2, 4:30-5:30 pm.  Children in Kindergarten and up are invited to join Ms. Katie for a holiday craft.  Registration opened 11/18.

   Saturday Storytime, 11-11:30 am, Children of all ages may join Ms. Hannan for stories and fun!  Online registration is open. 

   Music with Ms. Mel, Weds., Dec. 11, 10:30-11 am.  Children three to five are invited to join Ms. Mel for music and fun!  Registration opened 11/27.

   Wee Ones, Mondays, 10:30-11 am.  Stories, music and movement with Ms. Janet for children 12-23 months. Register online.  Program dates are 12/2, 12/9, and 12/16.

   Tales for Two’s, Tuesdays, 10:30-11 am.  Stories, music and crafts with Ms. Janet for children 24-35 months.  Registration online is required.  Program dates are 12/3, 12/10, and 12/17.

   More Stories Please, Wednesdays, 10:30-11 am.  Children ages three to five are invited to join Ms. JoAnn for stories and crafts. Online registration is required.  Program dates are 12/4 and 12/18.

   Drop-In Storytime/Stay and Play, Thursdays, 10:30 am.  No registration required.  Stories, music and movement for children of all ages with Ms. JoAnn. Program dates are 12/5 and 12/12.

   Drop-In Craft, Saturdays,11 am to 4 pm.  Children of all ages are invited to stop in and enjoy a craft.

Coming in January! 

   Weekender’s Book Club, Sunday, January 26, 1-3 pm.  The book to be discussed is The Other Woman by Sandie Jones.  Books will be available at the Adult Library.  Register online.

   Cover to Cover Book Club, Weds., 1/29, 6:30-8pm.  This group will discuss The Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly.  Books will be available at the Adult Library.  Registration is open.

Children’s Library Closing

   The Children’s Library will be closed January 2nd -9th for renovations.  Please plan accordingly.  Thank you!
