New Fairfield Free Public Library Survey

    The New Fairfield Library would like to know how we can serve you better and for that we need your input!  Please take a few minutes to answer our short Survey about library programs and services.  Let us know how we are doing and what services and programs you would like to see. Responses will be collected until Feb. 14, 2018.  Please know that some things are not within our power to change, but wherever we can make improvements or changes, we will. Adult Programs

   Friday Night Crafting Club, 6-8 pm.  Bring your project to the Library and take some time for yourself with fellow crafters.  This informal group meets in the Library’s lower level and requires no registration.

   Learn Video Production, Weds., Feb. 7, 6:30 pm., Community Room.  Cable Access Channel presents this enlightening program on the world of video production.  Ages 17 and up.  Registration opened Jan. 24.

   The Art of Cardmaking, Friday, Feb. 9, 6 pm, Program Room.  Join Linda Norris as she helps you to create your own unique cards.  All the embellishments you need will be provided.  Registration opened Jan. 26.

   Meditation and Fitness Apps, Weds., Feb. 21, 6 pm, Program Room.  Join Dawn from Tech Savvy as she gets you started using some timely apps!  Registration opens Feb. 7.

   Genealogy, Weds., Feb. 21, 6:45 pm, Community Room.  Karen Keeler will be available to assist you with your ancestry search.  Registration opens Feb. 7.

Programs for Children

   Valentine’s Day Coloring Contest!  Win one of Stana’s Handmade owls!  The Children’s Library is holding a coloring contest.  Pick up a special coloring sheet to bring home and color.  Return it to the Library and we will put it up for display.  Please put your name and phone number on the back of the sheet.  Winners will be called on February 14th.  Only one entry per child please.  Stop by and see our lovely entries!

   Wee Ones, Mondays, 10:30-11 am, Program Room.  Stories, music and movement with Ms. Janet for children ages 12-23 months.  Registration for February opened Jan. 22.

   Tales for Twos, Tuesdays, 10:30-11 am, Program Room.  Stories, music and crafts with Ms. Janet for children ages 24-35 months.   Registration for February opened Jan. 23.

   More Stories Please, Weds., 10:30 am, Program Room.  Stories and a craft with Ms. JoAnn for children ages three to five.  Registration for February opened Jan. 24. 

   Drop-In Storytime/Stay and Play, Thursdays, 10:30-11am, Program Room.  Stories, music and movement for all ages with Ms. JoAnn every Thursday unless school is closed or delayed.  No registration is required.

Take Your Child to the Library Day, February 3rd!

   If you haven’t been to the library recently, this is your opportunity to make it a destination.   Discover what is available for you and your family.  Using the Library can be a very economical feature for your family’s finances and a wonderful educational resource for people of all ages!

   First Saturday Storytime, Feb. 3, 11-11:30 am., Program Room.  Children of all ages may join kindergarten teacher, Ms. Hannan, for stories and fun!  Registration opens Jan. 20.

Program Note:  If New Fairfield Schools are delayed due to weather, there will be no morning programs.  If school is cancelled, all Children’s Programs are also cancelled for the day even if the library is still open.
