Holiday Closing

   The Library will be closed on Sunday, January 14 and Monday, January 15 in observance of the Martin Luther King holiday.  Please bear these dates in mind when planning to come to the library or phoning to conduct any business related to your account.  Thank you.

It’s Cold Outside

   Be prepared! With winter advisory closings happening now that we are in full-fledged freezing winter weather, stop by and pick up some movies, books, magazines, audio books, video games and even the XBOX 360 unit to borrow.  With an up-to-date library card, online books may be easily downloaded so that you can relax on the couch with a nice hot chocolate!  Call 312-5679 or 312-5682 for more information.

Adult Programs

   Friday Night Crafting Club, 6-8 pm.  Bring your project to the Library and take some time for yourself with fellow crafters.  This informal group meets in the Library’s lower level and requires no registration.

   Learn to Knit, Friday, January 12, 6 pm, Program Room.  Have you ever wanted to learn to knit?  Or perhaps your skills got a bit rusty and in need of a refresher course to get knitting again.  This class is a perfect fit.  You will learn to knit, purl, cast on and bind off.  We will cover the basics and start you on your journey to mastering knitting.  Bring one skein of yarn and two knitting needles US size 8/5 mm.  Recommended yarn to bring is a worsted weight yarn such as Caron Cakes, Caron Simply Soft yarn or any other brand of worsted weight.  Registration is required and class size is limited.

   College Knowledge, Weds., January 17, 6:30-8 pm, Program Room. Are you just beginning to think about sending your child to college?  Are you feeling overwhelmed as the parent of a high school junior?  Do you have endless questions about the college process?  Start the year with the EA Test Prep Team providing answers to your questions.  Join Judy Murano, Co-Director of EA Test Prep, for a FREE informative talk about the ACT, SAT, college visits, college questions, preparing for the Common Application, and so much more.  Don’t miss this informative program!  Registration opened January 3.

   Genealogy, Weds., January 17, 6:45-7:30 pm, Community Room.  Karen Keeler will assist you with your ancestry search.  Registration opened January 3.

 Programs for Children

   Wee Ones, Mondays, 10:30-11 am, Program Room.  Stories, music and movement with Ms. Janet for children ages 12-23 months.  Registration for each month is required.  There will be no storytime on January 15.

   Tales for Twos, Tuesdays, 10:30-11 am, Program Room.  Stories, music and crafts with Ms. Janet for children ages 24-35 months.   Monthly registration is required.

   More Stories Please, Weds., 10:30 am, Program Room.  Stories and a craft with Ms. JoAnn for children ages three to five.  Monthly registration is required.  Please note the new time change. 

   Drop-In Storytime/Stay and Play, Thursdays, 10:30-11am, Program Room.  Stories, music and movement for all ages with Ms. JoAnn every Thursday unless school is closed or delayed.  No registration is required.

    Candy Sushi, Monday, Jan. 29, 4:30 pm, Program Room.  Children in grades one and up are invited to join Katie Stevenson in creating a reasonable facsimile of sushi made with candy.  Registration opens Jan. 13.
