HELP!

Our Summer Reading Program has been changed to run from July 2nd to August 10th due to the extension of the school year for New Fairfield.  All of the programs that were originally scheduled for that first week have been moved throughout the six weeks as to the performer’s availability.  In order to make this a successful reading program, .we need high school volunteers to operate the Summer Reading Desk. As of this publication date, all of the training sessions will have taken place and attending one is required.  If we are fortunate enough to get an overwhelming volunteer response, more training dates may be added.  The student will receive Community Service Time and commit to a minimum of six hours over the course of the program.  More hours are always available and appreciated.  Applications are available on the Library’s website only.  Call 203.312.5682 for more information.

Book Donations

The recent storm must have inspired our community to clean out their houses.  We have been receiving book donations and it is kind of you to think of us.  Unfortunately, we do not have the storage space to hold these until the Friends of the Library conduct their next book sale.  Please wait until the beginning of September to donate when the Friends begin collecting for the sale to be held at the latter part of that month.  Understand that items left outside the building when we are closed will be exposed to the elements and become worthless as an item for sale.  We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
