Friends of the Library Book Sale

   The Friends of the Library will be collecting books, audiobooks, and dvds this month until March 19th.  The sale will take place on Saturday, March 21st , Sunday March 22nd, and Monday, March 23rd from 10-4pm. There will be a preview on Saturday March 21st from 9-10am with a $10,00 charge.  The Friends appreciate the donations of resources but they will not be able to accept magazines, Reader’s Digest books, encyclopedias, VHS tapes, audio cassettes, or moldy, musty items. Thank you.

Adult Programs

   Friday Night Crafting Club, 6-8 pm.  Bring your project to the Library and take some time for yourself to work on whatever interests you.  No registration required.

   Mortgage Information Session, Weds., March 18, 5:30-7:30 pm. Join People’s United Bank in coordination with Attorney Raymond Lubus to see if a new home can be in your future.  Enjoy some light refreshments and hear from the experts on topics such as:  specialty home buying programs, the importance of pre-approval, understanding the current market, working with a realtor, and what is entailed in underwriting and closings.  Registration opened March 4th.

   Nature Book Club, Friday, March 20, 6:30-7:45 pm.  Do you love reading and learning about nature and the environment?  This month’s book is Coyote America by Dan Flores.  Copies are available at the Library.  Registration opened Feb. 21.

   Cover to Cover Book Club, Weds., March 25, 6:30-8 pm.  This month’s book selection is Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate.  Copies are available at the Library.

   Weekender’s Book Club, Sunday, March 29, 1-3 pm.  The book selection will be Summer Wives by Beatriz Williams.  Copies are available at the Library. 

Children’s Programs

   First Saturday Storytime, 11-11:30 am.  Children of all ages may join kindergarten teacher, Ms. Hannan, for stories and fun.  Registration opened Feb. 22nd.

   Drop-in Craft, Saturdays, 11 am-4 pm.  Children of all ages are invited to stop in and enjoy making a craft.

   Wee Ones, Mondays, 10:30-11am, Stories, music and movement with Ms. Janet for children 12-23 months.  Online registration is required.

   Tales for Twos, Tuesdays, 10:30-11 am.  Stories, music and crafts with Ms. Janet for children 24-35 months.  Register online.

   More Stories Please, Weds., 10:30-11 am. Stories and a craft for children ages three to five. Register online.  No program March 11.

   Drop-in Storytime/Stay and Play, Thursdays, 10:30 am.  Stories, music and movement for all ages with Ms. JoAnn. 

   Music with Ms. Mel, Weds., March 11, 10:30-11 am.  Children ages three to five are invited to join Ms. Mel for music and fun at the library.  Registration opened Feb. 27.

   Katie’s Fun with Artsy Crafts, Friday, March 20, 4:30-5:30 pm. Join Katie Stevenson in creating a fun craft.  This program is for children in grades kindergarten and up.  Registration opens March 6th.

  

Inclement Weather Policy

   If New Fairfield Schools are delayed or there is an early dismissal due to weather, there will be no children’s programs that day.  If school is cancelled, all children’s programs are cancelled for the day even if the library is still open.  Adult programs are determined by the presenter.
