 April Statistics

   Attendance, 5,018; Adult Books, 1,768; Juvenile Books, 2,196; Magazines, 368; Audio Books, 303; Music cds, 33; Movies, 1,605; Total Circulation, 6,485 (includes books, magazines, audio books, music cds, movies, puzzles, and miscellaneous items).   Adult Computer Use, 391; Juvenile Computer Use, 126; Music Downloads, 111; EBooks, 232; Audio Book Downloads, 155; Ancestry Searches, 84.  The library was open 30 days with an average circulation of 216 items per day and an average attendance of 167 people per day.

Summer Reading Volunteers Needed

   The library will be looking for volunteers to assist us with our Summer Reading Program that will run from June 26-August 4.  Volunteers should be going into ninth grade, attend one training session, and willing to give at least six hours of their time over the course of the six-week program in order to receive a letter for community service.  Training sessions from which to choose will be offered on Thursday, June 1 from 3:30-4:30 pm; Friday, June 2, 6:30-7:30 pm; Monday, June 5, 6:30-7:30 pm; Tuesday, June 6, 3:30-4:30 pm.  Applications are available at the Children’s Circulation Desk and online through the library website.

Programs for Children

     Wee Ones, Mondays, 10:30-11 am.  Stories, music and movement with Ms. Janet for children ages 12-23 months. Registration is required for each month.

   Tales for Twos, Tuesdays, 10:30-11 am.  Stories, music and crafts with Ms. Janet for children ages 24-35 months.  Registration is required for each month.

  More Stories Please, Weds., 1:30-2 pm.  Stories and crafts with Ms. JoAnn for children ages three to five.  Registration is required for each month.

   Drop-In Storytime/Stay and Play, Thursdays, 10:30 am.  Stories, music and movement for all ages with Ms. JoAnn every Thursday unless schools are delayed/closed for weather or  holidays.  No registration is required. 

    Saturday Storytime, 11-11:30 pm, May 13.  Join Ms. Hannan for stories and fun.  This program is open to all ages.  Registration opened April 29th.

   Tie Dye T-Shirts, 4:30 pm, Monday, May 22. Katie Stevenson will work with children in grades two and up using a tie-dye technique without the mess!  This activity combines chemistry and art.  Create a simple design with dots and lines with permanent ink pens directly on a t-shirt or whatever light cotton item you bring.  Registration opened May 8th.

Programs for Adults

   Friday Night Crafting Club, 6-8 pm.  Bring your project to the library and take some time for yourself to work on whatever interests you.  No registration required.

   Friends of the Library Plant Sale, Saturday, May 13, 10 am to 2 pm.  The sale will be held on the library grounds. 

   Genealogy, Weds., May 16, 6:45 -7:30 pm.  Karen Keeler will be available to assist you with your ancestry search.  This group will meet in the library’s Community Room.  Registration opened May 2nd.

   Women’s Health, Friday, May 19, 6 pm.  Dr. Kenneth Hoffman, Medical Director of SOPHIA Natural Health in Brookfield, will speak about holistic approaches and natural alternatives to women’s health.  Come prepared for a lively discussion, questions and answers!  Registration opened May 5th.
